Medical and Dental Missions For several years the Foundation has been actively organizing medical and dental missions. These activities provided free medicines and medical supplies as well as the professional services from doctors, dentists, nurses and other medical volunteers. In April 2002, the Foundation coordinated with the Antique Medical Missions, Inc. and Sagip Bayan Foundation, Inc. and launched one of the biggest medical missions in the province, dubbed "Tabang Antique". A total of 6,549 indigent residents availed of medical and dental services while 317 surgical procedures were performed. Realizing the needs of Antiqueño residents of Metro Manila, the Foundation conducted a medical and dental mission on November 2, 2004 at Barangay Pasong Tamo, Quezon City. This project benefited Antiqueño residents of North Metro Manila which include the cities of Caloocan, Valenzuela and Novaliches. A total of 507 individuals availed of medical services while 65 individuals availed of dental services such as tooth extraction and cleaning. On October 31, 2005, the Foundation launched its second medical mission in Metro Manila. This time it is geared towards Antiqueño residents of South Metro Manila that includes the cities of Makati, Pasay, Taguig, Parañague, Las Piñas and Muntinlupa. It was held at Seacom Compound, Sucat Road, Parañaque and benefited a total of 720 individuals. Eleven (11) minor surgical procedures were performed also. |
